Established in 1948, O’Connors Carrying Service has been an integral part of the Murwillumbah community for 75 years. 2023 saw the 75th Anniversary of O’Connors Carrying Service. From our humble beginnings, we have seen a huge growth over the years and we are very proud of O’Connors Carrying and all it has become. Still owned and operated by O’Connors, we decided to mark the occasion with a big Open Day for everyone to come and enjoy.
One of our drivers, Dan Bloomfield was diagnosed with MS and we wanted to be able to help find a cure for this disease. MS is the most common neurological disease affecting young adults with no cure. The open day was a chance to raise much needed funds for MS Australia.
On Saturday 7th October we opened our doors for the young and young at heart to enjoy the display of our trucks and equipment. Everyone enjoyed a Jumping Castle, Facepainting, SES display, Rural Fire Truck display, Excavator, Kids activities, Photo opportunity with our animated truck, Over 50 raffle prizes and of course some yummy cakes, desserts, drinks and a sausage sizzle. The day was jam-packed and everyone had a wonderful time.
Thank you to our sponsors!
We were overwhelmed with the kind and generous nature of the Community. So many wonderful local businesses and volunteers came to offer prizes, services and sponsor the activities for the day. This allowed us to donate 100% of the money to MS Australia. Together we raised over $5000! Well done everyone! We can’t thank the below businesses enough:
